GIS reveals urgent need for soil conservation in North-east Libya
The researchers used GIS and the USLE model to predict soil erosion in North-east Libya. By mapping factors like rainfall, soil type, slope, and crop management, they found that the area is at risk of erosion, especially on high-quality soils. This information can help create soil conservation plans to protect the land and improve crop yields. GIS and USLE can accurately predict soil loss and erosion risk in large areas like watersheds, as long as enough spatial data is available.
