New dolichos bean genotypes promise higher green pod yields for farmers!
The study looked at different types of dolichos beans to see how certain traits are related to the yield of green pods. They planted nine different types of beans on various dates and found that traits like pod setting percentage, number of pods per vine, and vine length were positively linked to higher green pod yield. On the other hand, traits like days to first flowering and days to first picking were negatively related to green pod yield. These findings can help in choosing the best bean types for breeding and improving future crops.
