New Hybrid Rice Varieties Boosting Yields and Tackling Food Shortages.
The study evaluated 36 hybrid rice varieties to understand their genetic variability and yield potential under Allahabad's climate. The researchers found significant differences in 18 yield-related characteristics among the hybrids. They observed that environmental factors had little impact on these traits. The study showed that traits like number of filled grains per panicle and biological yield per plant had high potential for genetic improvement, suggesting they could be targeted for enhancing rice grain yield.
