Turning Cheap Coal into Clean Energy Fuel: Breakthrough Gasification Process Unlocks Anthracite Potential
The study aimed to improve low rank coal quality by gasifying it at high temperatures. By analyzing the coal and char produced, researchers found that the gasification process can upgrade the coal to semi-anthracite and anthracite grades. The fuel ratio reached 1084, indicating higher coal grade. The analysis showed that the char had a high carbon content of 90.74%, with minimal inorganic elements present.
