Inadequate Waste Management in Nigeria Puts Communities at Risk of Epidemic.
The study looked at how well solid waste is managed in Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Researchers surveyed households to learn about their waste disposal habits and the role of the government in waste management. They found that waste often sits around for days without being collected, and many households use inadequate containers for waste. The study showed that waste management in the area is not efficient. The researchers suggest that more funding should be allocated to waste management to prevent the spread of diseases.
