Revolutionizing Soil Fertility: Integrated Nitrogen Management Boosts Nutrient Availability in Crops
A study was done to see how different ways of managing nitrogen affect the nutrients in soil used for growing rice and maize. They found that using a mix of organic and inorganic fertilizers improved the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the soil compared to using only organic or no fertilizers. Applying the recommended amount of inorganic fertilizer led to the highest levels of available nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the soil. The levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil were affected by the type of nitrogen management in the summer season and the amount of fertilizer in the winter season. Potassium levels were not affected by the summer treatments but were influenced by the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the winter season.
