Organic Farming Boosts Soybean Yields, Transforming Himalayan Livelihoods
The study tested different organic methods for growing Soybean in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. They used treatments like vermicompost and natural farming techniques on the Soybean plants. The plants treated with vermicompost and sprayed with vermiwash three times grew taller, had more leaves and branches, and flowered and matured faster. The vermicompost with vermiwash treatment resulted in the highest biological yield and seed yield for the Soybean crops compared to other methods tested. This suggests that using vermicompost and vermiwash can help increase growth and yield of Soybean plants in mountainous areas.
