Rwandan Farmers Struggle with Underperforming Irrigation Schemes, Calling for Urgent Improvements
The study evaluated two irrigation schemes in Rwanda to see how well they were working. They found that both schemes were not performing as well as they could be. One scheme used less water but grew crops more efficiently, while the other scheme had more water available. Both schemes didn't make enough money to cover their costs because the crops didn't yield enough. Overall, the irrigation schemes need better management and upgrades to be more productive and sustainable.
