Energy crops like Sida hermaphrodita, Arundo donax, and Miscanthus × giganteus are being grown in Slovakia for fuel. Scientists tested these crops in labs to see which one is best for energy. They found that Miscanthus × giganteus has the highest heating value at 19.6 MJ/kg, while Arundo donax has the most lignin and activation energy for energy use.
