Eco-friendly refrigerants with nanoparticles boost energy efficiency, combat climate change.
Adding nanoparticles to a common refrigerant (R600a) can improve the energy efficiency of vapor compression refrigeration systems. These systems are vital for cooling but use lots of energy. By incorporating Al2O3 nanoparticles into R600a, a more environmentally friendly nanorefrigerant is created. In tests, the nanorefrigerant system outperformed the pure refrigerant one. This means that using nanorefrigerants can make refrigeration systems work better, which is important for saving energy and meeting environmental regulations.
