German economy set for slow recovery, reaching pre-crisis levels by 2022.
The German economy hit a low point but is slowly recovering. Private spending is increasing, helped by savings from earlier in the year. The government's stimulus measures are also supporting the economy. However, foreign demand for German products is still weak. It may take until early 2022 to get back to pre-crisis levels. German GDP is expected to drop by 6.0% in 2020 but grow by 4.1% in 2021 and 3.0% in 2022.
