New Okra Hybrids Show High Fruit Yield Across Environments, Promising Commercial Success.
Heterosis breeding was used to increase fruit yield in okra plants. 35 different genotypes were tested in four environments, and hybrids showed significant increases in fruit yield. The hybrid AOL-16-04 x Parbhani Kranti consistently had high fruit yield across all environments. Other hybrids like AOL-16-04 x Arka Anamika and NOL 17-09 x Arka Anamika also showed promising results in specific environments. These successful crosses can be used for commercial cultivation to produce superior okra plants.
