The article looks at how social protection programs in Tunisia affect whether people work in formal or informal jobs. They used data from 2005 to 2015 to see how these programs influenced workers' decisions. The results show that these programs can actually discourage some workers from joining social insurance schemes. Additionally, the cost of buying social insurance can be a barrier for workers.
