Chinese agriculture shifts towards green tech, reducing pollution and boosting productivity
The study looked at how technology has affected agriculture in China from 1981 to 2017. They found that technological progress has helped agricultural productivity grow in different ways over time. By focusing on factors like labour, capital, and fertiliser use, they discovered that biased technological progress has mainly favored using more capital and fertiliser. However, increasing the amount of labour used can actually help promote environmentally friendly technological progress in agriculture.
