The article presents a framework to help teachers and students in design education understand the design process better. The framework includes five key elements that represent basic design skills. By using these elements, teachers and students can improve their understanding and confidence in the design process. The elements focus on experimentation, knowledge, values, visual language, and product aspects in design. The framework was tested through interviews with designers and observations of teacher-student dialogues, showing promising results in enhancing students' designerly attitude.
