The study looked at how different types of maize and levels of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth and yield of hybrid maize. They tested five maize varieties and two levels of nitrogen in two growing seasons. The results showed that using the right amount of nitrogen fertilizer significantly increased maize yield. Applying half or full recommended nitrogen fertilizer led to a 31% and 41% increase in grain yield, respectively. This means that using the right fertilizer can help improve the yield of hybrid maize varieties, making them better for production.
