Constructed wetlands key to urban eco-environment health and resilience.
The landscape and design of wetlands affect the urban environment. Using GIS and field surveys, researchers studied a constructed wetland in the Yellow River Basin. They found that water bodies and woodlands have the biggest impact on the wetland's landscape. The ecosystem in the area has good continuity and low fragmentation. The wetland has normal ecological resilience but average ecological value. These findings help in restoring wetland ecosystems and designing better landscape patterns.
