China's Air Quality Worsening Locally Despite National Improvements: Study
Air pollution from particulate matter (PM) can harm public health. A study looked at PM levels in China from 2014 to 2016. Overall, air quality improved nationally but worsened in some areas like the Feiwei Plain. The worst pollution was in northwest China and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Different regions had different sources of PM. Wind speed and direction affected PM levels in urban cities.
