Barriers hindering strategic alliances in construction industry in emerging markets.
Construction firms in developing countries like Nigeria face barriers in implementing Strategic Alliance (SA) for efficient construction processes. A survey of construction professionals in Nigeria revealed that awareness of SA is moderately high, but willingness to adopt it is a challenge. Major barriers include fear and trust issues, lack of strategic planning, inadequate knowledge, and cultural differences. Overcoming these barriers can promote successful SA partnerships in the construction industry in Nigeria and other emerging economies.
