Miners Discover Triangular Collapse Pattern, Unlocking Safer Coal Extraction

They found that the ground above the mined coal caves in a triangular pattern, with different types of piles forming below. This study shows that the collapsed ground can actually help support the layers above, making it safer to mine multiple coal seams close together.
