The article analyzes how houses in Vietnam's Mekong Delta changed from 1858 to 1945. They used space syntax to study the spatial layout of the houses. The study found that houses built after 1900 adapted to new cultural norms by adding more functional spaces for privacy. This shows that cultural factors influence how houses are designed in the Mekong Delta.
