Local coastal villagers thrive in cold winters with innovative heating methods.
The study investigated the thermal environment and comfort of people in a cold coastal village in China during winter. They looked at factors like building features, heating methods, and indoor temperatures. Most houses used a heated Kang for warmth, with some also using radiators. The study found that local people feel comfortable at an indoor temperature of 13.7 °C. They are adaptive to cold and humid conditions, and prefer no changes in low-temperature environments. The results provide valuable insights for improving the thermal conditions in cold coastal rural areas.
