Groundbreaking study shows paclobutrazol boosts groundnut yield by 27%!
Groundnut plants can grow too tall in the kharif season, leading to lower yields compared to the rabi-summer season. To address this issue, a study tested different levels and timing of paclobutrazol application on groundnut growth and yield. The experiment found that applying paclobutrazol at 100 ppm concentration increased pod yield by 27.4% and pod per plant by 24.6%. The best results were seen when paclobutrazol was applied at 30 days after emergence, leading to a higher benefit cost ratio of 1.97. Overall, using paclobutrazol can help reduce plant height and improve groundnut yield, especially when applied at the right time and concentration.
