Degradation of agricultural land in Ukraine leads to significant economic losses.
Land degradation in Ukraine is causing a significant decrease in agricultural land productivity, leading to a reduction in land prices. The study aimed to assess the impact of this degradation on the monetary evaluation of agricultural land. By using methods like mathematical modeling and economic analysis, the researchers found that land degradation results in a 2.3 times decrease in land value and a loss of 464.5 billion UAH in land tax annually. This highlights the importance of implementing measures to combat land degradation, particularly soil erosion, to prevent further economic damage.
