New Study Reveals Plant Transpiration Key to Water Conservation in Agriculture
The study aimed to understand how much water a plant called Cnidium officinale uses and how it affects its growth. Researchers used a special tool called a weighing lysimeter to measure the plant's water use. They found that the plant's water use increased as it grew bigger, and most of the water was released through its leaves to cool down. The plant's water use was mainly influenced by sunlight, and it released 97% of the water to stay cool. This information can help us better understand how plants grow and how they use water.
