Fenton Method Revolutionizes Municipal Wastewater Treatment Efficiency
The study compared different methods to clean up dirty water from cities. They tested Fenton, UV/Fenton, and O3/Fenton methods. The best results were seen with a certain ratio of H2O2 to Fe2+. Increasing the pH from 4 to 7 also helped remove more pollutants. Time of reaction mattered until a certain point, but not after that. The best method overall was O3/H2O2/Fe2+, followed by UV/H2O2/Fe2+ and then H2O2/Fe2+. Fenton and its variations are good for cleaning up city wastewater.
