Eco-friendly farming practices in Nigeria boost smallholder farmers' welfare gains.
Adopting eco-friendly farming practices can help smallholder farmers in South-West Nigeria improve their welfare. A study of 350 farmers showed that those who adopted these practices saw an increase in their well-being. Factors like education level, social trust, and participation in group activities influenced farmers' decisions to adopt these practices. The study found that farmers with better access to resources tended to benefit more from adopting eco-friendly methods. This suggests that farmers who can efficiently use their resources may see positive outcomes in their farming efforts.
