Revolutionary Plants Cleanse Heavy Metals from Sewage, Transforming Water Quality
Constructed wetlands with Canna indica and Acorus calamus plants can effectively remove heavy metals from sewage wastewater. In a study in India, these plants showed high removal rates for metals like zinc, iron, copper, and chromium. The plants, along with gravel and sand, can be used on a larger scale to clean up sewage water contaminated with heavy metals.
