Bird guide reveals thriving urban avian species, promoting sustainable bird tourism.
The researchers aimed to identify bird species in the urban area of La Mana canton by studying the physical and geographical conditions, as well as vegetation types. They found 56 bird species in total, with the Passeriformes order being the most common. The study showed that zones with less human intervention had higher bird diversity. Despite urbanization and human activities threatening bird habitats, many species have adapted to survive in areas with vegetation. This research suggests that bird tourism could be promoted as a sustainable way to raise environmental awareness and protect natural resources.
