New method revolutionizes combining qualitative and quantitative research for impactful reviews.
Mixed methods reviews combine qualitative and quantitative evidence to provide stronger insights for practice, research, and policymaking. This paper demonstrates how joint displays can be used to merge qualitative and quantitative findings in a review on challenges faced by male nursing students. By analyzing and integrating these findings in tables and visuals, researchers were able to compare, confirm, and expand on inferences from different studies. Joint displays proved to be a robust and transparent method for synthesizing diverse research findings in mixed methods reviews.
