Green Infrastructure: Key Solution to Urban Heat Islands and Climate Change
Urban Heat Islands (UHI) in cities can make it hotter and less comfortable to live in. Green spaces like parks and trees can help reduce this heat. A study looked at 14 cities in different countries and found that green areas can lower the impact of UHI. Different cities face different challenges with UHI based on their layout. Keeping and adding green spaces in cities can bring many benefits and help lessen the effects of UHI. City planners should consider UHI when planning new buildings.
