Reducing Nitrogen Boosts Rice Yield and Profit in Southern China
A study in Southern China looked at how reducing nitrogen fertilizer and using organic fertilizer affects rice growth. They tested different levels of nitrogen reduction and found that a 10% reduction (N90) led to the highest rice yield and nitrogen use efficiency. N90 had better results than using the usual amount of nitrogen (N100). The study showed that N90 increased yield by 9.33 t/ha and had higher output value and benefits. It also had little impact on soil organic matter content. This research provides important information for making fertilizer decisions in agriculture.
