Wave and current-driven sediment transport affects shoreline changes. Longshore sediment transport has been studied, but cross-shore transport's impact on long-term shoreline evolution is unclear. A new model estimates cross-shore sediment transport rates, incorporating waves, currents, and gravity. This model has been added to a shoreline evolution simulation tool.
