The article discusses a method to estimate recreation demand models with large choice sets. By using a mixed logit model and a latent class model, researchers were able to sample alternatives effectively while accounting for individual preferences. This approach overcomes computational limitations and allows for more accurate estimation of recreation demand in situations with many options available.
