Vietnam is getting ready to introduce a new law in 2012 to tax activities harming the environment. Scientists have used a special model to predict how this law might affect things like prices, jobs, what people buy, government money, pollution, and how happy people are. Their model looks at 33 types of industries, 20 kinds of households, and ways to change how they use energy. The study shows that the new law could lead to changes in money and jobs, what people buy, and how energy is used in the country. This may also impact how much pollution is created and how happy households are.
