North Dakota Cooperatives Boost State Economy by $6.1 Billion in 2004
Cooperatives in North Dakota play a big role in the state's economy. In 2004, they spent 6.1 billion. This included 1.5 billion in retail trade activity. Cooperatives also provided jobs for 11,162 workers, with many of these jobs in rural areas, and supported an additional 53,676 secondary jobs throughout the state.
