Gender Divide: Men Prefer Tax Cuts, Women Lean Towards Social Spending
The study looked at how men and women feel about using extra money in the budget. Men are more likely to want tax cuts or paying off debt, while women prefer spending on education or social security. Women tend to support child care relief, while men prefer capital gains reduction. Men change their preferences when told tax laws are unfair to two-worker families. Women are more likely to say they don't know about fiscal matters. Both men and women become more opinionated when given more information, but men more so.
