Internet prices show huge gaps, not converging - study finds.
The study looked at prices of over 1,000 electronics products on a price comparison website. Prices on the internet don't always match up, and the gap between the two lowest prices can be big or small depending on how many companies are selling the product. When only two companies list prices, the gap is around 23%, but when 17 companies list prices, the gap shrinks to about 3.5%. This shows that the more companies there are, the closer the prices get to each other.
