The article analyzes how getting more education in Uruguay affects how much money people make. They used a method called instrumental variables to estimate the impact of schooling on wages. The results show that the traditional estimates were too low. When they corrected for mistakes in reporting schooling levels, they found that each extra year of schooling boosts wages by 22 percent.
