Workers from Southern Italy prefer seeking jobs in the public sector over the private sector due to higher wages and job security. The study calculates the minimum wage workers are willing to accept for each sector, finding it to be higher for the public sector. Factors like career opportunities and job stability influence how workers divide their time between searching for jobs in each sector. An analysis of Italian workers' job search strategies reveals significant regional differences, which align with the theoretical findings of the study.
