Deforestation driving climate change: Global emissions surpass transport sector.
Deforestation is a big problem causing climate change. It releases a lot of greenhouse gases into the air. In the 1990s, deforestation emitted 5.8 billion tons of CO2 every year, which is a big part of all the greenhouse gases we make. This happens a lot in developing countries. The gases from deforestation are even more than what all the cars, trucks, and planes produce each year.
