The article challenges the idea that communal management of natural resources is always a bad idea. Many criticisms of common property regimes are based on flawed models and misunderstandings. Models like the Tragedy of the Commons are not accurate reflections of reality. Both public and private management of resources have their own issues. The article suggests that a mix of public and communal management could be the way forward. It's time to consider co-management seriously.
