New framework balances profit and planet in sustainable logistics networks!
Companies are changing their logistic networks to be more environmentally friendly due to consumer and legal pressures. This paper introduces a framework for designing sustainable logistic networks that balance profitability and environmental impact. By using multi-objective programming, companies can create networks that are both cost-efficient and eco-friendly. The paper also discusses a method to evaluate the efficiency of existing logistic networks. The European pulp and paper industry is used as an example to demonstrate these concepts.
