Canadian Women Still Earn Only 84-89% of Men's Wages: Study
The wage gap between men and women in Canada still exists, with men earning more on average. Factors like work experience and job responsibilities only explain a small part of this gap. Even after considering productivity-related factors, a significant portion of the wage difference remains unexplained. Traditional measures like age or potential experience may not accurately reflect actual work experience, leading to larger gender wage gaps when used as proxies. This study used new data to show that women earn about 84% - 89% of what men earn on average, even when controlling for various factors.
