New basis of game theory reveals fairer distribution of resources.
The article introduces a new way to understand cooperative games. Instead of all players needing to cooperate for a payoff, now only one player in a group can get a payoff. This new approach creates a basis for these games, which has two important properties. First, when we break down a game into this basis, the values for individual players match a well-known calculation called the Shapley value. Second, this basis helps us understand the Shapley value better.
