The article compares two common methods used to measure efficiency in healthcare systems: Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA). Through simulations, the study found that neither method is clearly better at estimating efficiency. However, Quantile regression was shown to provide more reliable estimates and could be a useful alternative approach in efficiency studies.
