The article examines how the informal sector in Colombia impacted employment from 1984 to 2000. It looks at different ways to define the informal sector and how it changed over time. The study identifies different types of workers in the informal sector and shows that each group responds differently to economic conditions. The research suggests that the informal sector is not one-size-fits-all and cannot be generalized easily.
