Price regulation leads to delays in new drug launches worldwide.
Price regulation can delay the launch of new drugs in different countries. A study looked at 85 new drugs launched in 25 major markets in the 1990s. Countries with lower expected prices or smaller markets saw fewer drug launches and longer delays. The US had the most drug launches, followed by Germany and the UK. Countries where drugs could be exported to had negative effects on launches.
