The study looked at how changes in monetary policy affect the exchange rate in South Korea. They found that when interest rates go up, the Korean currency gets stronger in the short term. This is because foreign investors put more money into Korean bonds. However, when interest rates rise, foreign investors tend to take money out of the Korean stock market.
