Livestock farming is crucial for rural households in Pakistan, but many farmers still use traditional methods. Artificial insemination can greatly improve milk yields, but adoption rates are low. Only 11% of cattle were artificially inseminated in 2006, despite the potential for significant income increase. Upgrading the genetic potential of Pakistani dairy animals through AI technology could help alleviate rural poverty.
